UCDC Zoom Guide

Staff Edition · UCOP Zoom accounts and the Zoom Workplace app on room desktops

Zoom accounts for UCDC and FGR staff are provisioned and managed by UCOP. Faculty are also provided with a UCOP Zoom account. UCDC IT does not provide Zoom accounts and does not manage Zoom accounts. Event spaces and classrooms do not have dedicated Zoom systems. The Zoom Workplace app is installed on the room desktops. UCDC and FGR staff can sign in to that app with their UCOP Zoom accounts. External events must use their own Zoom account.

1. Which Zoom account?

UCOP provisions and manages Zoom for UCDC staff, FGR staff, and faculty. UCDC IT does not.

2. Event spaces and classrooms

Use the Zoom Workplace app on the room desktop. External events use their own account.

3. Audio, video, and support

UCDC IT supports Zoom issues that are not account-related. Zoom accounts are UCOP ITS.

UCDC staff

UseUCOP Zoom

EnterSign in with SSO at ucop.zoom.us (company domain: ucop) using your UCOP credentials. You can sign in to the Zoom Workplace app on an event-space or classroom desktop with this account.

FGR staff

UseUCOP Zoom

EnterSame as UCDC staff. You can sign in to the Zoom Workplace app on an event-space or classroom desktop with this account.

Faculty

UseUCOP Zoom

EnterFaculty are provided with a UCOP Zoom account.

External event

Useyour own Zoom account in the Zoom Workplace app on the room desktop

Event spaces and classrooms

Use the Zoom Workplace app on the room desktop. External events use their own account.

1Wake the room desktop and log in with your UCDC account, or for events log in with events@ucdc.edu.
2Open the Zoom Workplace app on the room desktop. UCDC staff or FGR staff: sign in with your UCOP Zoom account if you are hosting.
3External events: sign in to the Zoom Workplace app with your own Zoom account. Do not use a staff or faculty Zoom login.
4Open the scheduled meeting, or click Join and enter the meeting ID from the invitation.
5Share content with Zoom screen share from the room desktop — not from a laptop using the table speakers.
6When you finish, sign out of the Zoom Workplace app on the room desktop if you signed in, and leave cables in place.
